Celebrating Innovation at Minnesota's Farmfest 2024
Highlights from This Year's Event
Farmfest in Morgan, Minnesota emerges as a beacon for the agricultural community every year, inviting hundreds of exhibitors to showcase their products and services across an impressive range of agribusiness categories. From agriculture consulting and agronomy services to livestock feeding and handling — and the latest in large and small farming equipment — the festival is a comprehensive showcase of innovation and expertise.
After talking with Niki Jones, director of marketing at Minnesota Farmfest, this year’s festival isn’t just about exhibition space. It offers demonstrations, educational sessions and live cattle chute demos each day of the show in the livestock tent.
This Year’s Theme
Whether you’re a farmer, rancher or simply interested in agriculture, Farmfest offers knowledge, entertainment and community spirit.
“We have hundreds of exhibitors set up their booth spaces with us every year with products and services that range across 100 categories of agribusiness,” Jones said. This diversity ensures attendees can find almost anything they’re looking for, making it an invaluable event for anyone involved in the agricultural sector.
This event provides a platform for essential discussions on policy and issues affecting farmers and rural Minnesota through its forums featuring political representatives, economists and experts from significant agricultural organizations.
This year’s theme, “Farm. Family. Fun.,” truly encapsulates the essence of Farmfest, highlighting not only the industry’s serious side but also celebrating the joy and community spirit that underpins rural life.
“Attendees can look forward to delicious food vendors including pork chops on a stick, free sweet corn and pancakes on specific days. The festival ensures that no one goes hungry while exploring everything on display,” Jones said.
Honoring Minnesota’s Women Farmers
This year’s Women in Ag event will honor the top five women farmers of the year in the region. The finalists include Erica Goette from Bricelyn, Jane Imker from Lamberton, Melissa Runck from Avoca, Kirsten Udermann from Sartell and Marles Lange from Windom.
The Farmfest Woman Farmer of the Year Award honors the hard-working female farmers across Minnesota who selflessly give their time to growing crops and raising livestock. These women wear multiple hats, contributing to the farm while also participating in community events, raising children or working outside the home. This event celebrates their outstanding contributions and achievements.
Farmfest stands as a testament to the power of community collaboration. The event’s success is largely attributed to the involvement of the local community, which works closely with several area organizations to deliver an exceptional experience. Jones told Farmers Hot Line that Minnesota Farmfest is more than an agricultural fair, it’s a celebration of farm life, family and the fun of being part of the vibrant agricultural community.
