Seneca Falls, NY; August 29, 2019. Empire Farm Days is moving into July and to a Wednesday-through-Friday schedule for the 2020 edition of the agricultural trade show and rural living event held at Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Seneca Falls, N.Y. Empire Farm Days Show Manager Jamie Meyer has announced July 29-31, 2020 as the dates for next year's event; the dates shift from a Tuesday-Thursday timeline to a Wednesday-through-Friday schedule.
"The new scheduling is intended to make the event more easily accessible by farmers and farm employees. The design of the show will continue to expand exhibits, demonstrations and programs of interest to those in production agriculture as well as for farm families and those interested in small farms and rural living," Meyer said.
Empire Farm Days began as a Potato Field Day in 1930 in Honeoye, N.Y., and subsequently was hosted by farms across New York State. It became a two-day show in 1961 and renamed Empire Farm Days in 1967. The event settled at Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Seneca Falls in 1988. Now a three-day event, Empire Farm Days has been estimated to have an annual economic impact in excess of $2 million on the local economy.
Details on the 2020 Empire Farm Days event will be posted at www.empirefarmdays.com and on the show's Facebook and Instagram pages. Those interested in becoming an exhibit for the 2020 show can contact the show office at 585-526-5356. The show is sponsored by the Empire State Potato Growers, Inc., a nonprofit, grower organization providing information, legislative and research support, grower education, and a unified voice for the betterment of New York's potato industry.
