How CNH’s Precision Technology is Helping Farmers Combat Water Scarcity
As the global demand for sustainable agriculture grows, CNH brands — Case IH and New Holland — are helping farmers tackle water scarcity and improve agricultural productivity.
Following World Water Day on March 22, CNH continues its commitment to sustainable agriculture through the Drops of the Future initiative.
This project, in partnership with Italy-based agri-tech company xFarm, is currently piloting precision farming solutions in Uzbekistan to demonstrate how smart technology and real-time data can optimize water management and increase crop yields.
Addressing Water Scarcity Through Precision Agriculture
The Drops of the Future initiative aims to tackle water shortages in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan by empowering young professionals with agricultural innovation and fostering collaboration between public and private sectors.
Launched by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), this project marks the first time OSCE has partnered with private companies to address water conservation, agri-food production and energy efficiency. The goal is to enhance environmental sustainability while improving farm productivity.
A Collaborative Effort for Lasting Impact
The initiative kicked off in September 2024 with the Tashkent Youth Workshop in Uzbekistan, bringing together industry experts, policymakers and agricultural leaders — including CNH.
This ongoing project is already making a real difference, demonstrating how data-driven farming can lead to smarter water use and higher agricultural efficiency.
As climate change continues to impact global water resources, CNH's precision agriculture technology is proving essential in ensuring a more sustainable future for farmers worldwide.
