John Deere Introduces W260M Windrower for Enhanced Productivity and Efficiency
John Deere, a leading agricultural equipment manufacturer, is expanding its windrower series with the introduction of the W260M model. This high-horsepower addition aims to elevate productivity and efficiency for operators, particularly in handling denser crops.
The W260M model, designed at the M specification level, offers increased horsepower, allowing operators to cut through crops more efficiently. Notably, it seamlessly integrates with the optional mounted-merger, enabling the combination of up to 48 feet into a single windrow. This innovation minimizes the need for additional passes, reducing fuel consumption and promoting a more sustainable approach with less crop damage.
The mounted-merger is not only compatible with the new W260M but also extends its functionality to existing windrower models — W235M, W235R, and W260R.
Kaylene Ballesteros, John Deere's hay and forage go-to-market manager, emphasized the significance of this advancement for dairy feed producers: "The new W260M and mounted-merger solution set helps improve profitability without increasing labor hours. Our customers can achieve more with less, addressing the challenges of rising industry costs. Time savings from fewer passes allow them to focus resources on other aspects of their operations."
The John Deere windrower portfolio incorporates cutting-edge technology, including AutoTrac™ guidance and TouchSet™ for windrow shape adjustments and conditioning. Mowing documentation in John Deere Operations Center™ enhances job tracking and decision-making for operators.
The W260M and merger option are expected to be available at John Deere dealerships in the upcoming fall season.
