Kelln Solar Winter Watering Systems Deliver Unbelievable Performance

Kelln Solar is proud to report that their two Winter Watering Systems continue to work flawlessly in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta in 2013 during the coldest winter in 35 years. The first system, the Aquatherm, is designed for pasture watering where there is no grid power and where well water is available. These well-insulated troughs work with a solar power submersible pump that delivers water at 10 gpm.

The second Winter Watering System works on a wet well near a dugout with a direct feed. The water in the wet well is the same level as the dugout and a drainback-drinking bowl prevents cold air from dropping into the well.  A motion eye detects the cattle and turns the pump on which fills the bowl. When the cattle are finished, the pump times out and the water drains back in the wet well below the frost line.
