Kubota Expands Compact Track Loader Production in Kansas

Kubota North America has expanded construction equipment manufacturing at Great Plains Manufacturing in Salina, Kansas, with the first SVL75-3 compact track loader now coming off the production line.

Great Plains Manufacturing is a Kubota subsidiary. The SVL75-3 will be assembled on the same line as the SVL65-2 using a mixed-model manufacturing approach.

The expansion is part of Kubota's broader investment in North American manufacturing and is intended to increase production capacity, add jobs, and expand the company's footprint in Kansas.

The SVL75-3 is a compact track loader, a machine category used across construction and other applications. Kubota said producing the model in Salina will support its efforts to expand operations closer to customers and dealers while strengthening its U.S. and Canadian supply chain.

It reinforces our leadership position and our commitment to the communities we serve.”

Kubota is also developing a compact construction equipment test center in Salina. The company announced the groundbreaking earlier this year. Once completed, the facility will be used for performance, durability, and reliability testing for North American equipment design and engineering.

Kubota's construction equipment presence in Salina began expanding in 2016 with the development of construction machinery attachments. The company established the Construction Equipment Research and Development North America facility in 2021.

Kubota said it has announced more than $300 million in construction equipment infrastructure investments in Salina in recent years.

The company also operates manufacturing facilities in Gainesville and Jefferson, Georgia, where Kubota Manufacturing of America is headquartered.

Kubota said the Salina expansion will allow Great Plains Manufacturing to increase its construction equipment manufacturing capabilities.
