Known for its pioneering spirit in the soybean industry, Stine Seed Company Stine Seed Company remains at the forefront of agricultural innovation.

As the first U.S. company to commercially offer Enlist E3 soybeans in 2019, Stine continues to lead, now ranking as the second largest Enlist E3 brand in the country. Today, Enlist E3 soybeans account for more than half of the soybean acres planted across the U.S.

“Our early investment in developing Stine Enlist E3 soybeans has allowed us to breed more new generations of seed than many of our competitors,” Tyler DuBay, soybean technical agronomist for Stine said.

“This approach gives us the advantage of offering more unique Enlist E3 lines in a wider array of maturities to the market.”

For more than 60 years, Stine’s commitment to soybean breeding and research has driven the development of high-yielding soybean genetics.

Utilizing a year-round production cycle that incorporates off-season nurseries in South America, the company achieves up to four generations annually.

“In 2024, we conducted 20,000 soybean crosses, with half focused on Enlist E3,” said DuBay. “We’ve been conducting Enlist E3 crosses for 12 years, starting seven years before anyone else.”

Through its rigorous Elite Yield Trials program, Stine extensively evaluates each product, testing it up to 300 times before market release.

Only the top-performing varieties make it to commercialization, with just 0.88% of all soybean lines tested in 2024 selected for growers.

“We want to ensure that every product we bring to market delivers the highest value to growers,” DuBay added.

“This commitment to excellence has helped us refine and expand our Enlist E3 lineup faster than others in the industry.”

Stine Enlist E3 soybeans offer growers more than just impressive yields. These soybeans are engineered for tolerance to 2,4-D choline, glyphosate and glufosinate herbicides, enabling the use of Enlist Duo or Enlist One for effective weed control with minimal drift and volatility.

“Our Enlist E3 soybeans also embody the Stine mentality,” DuBay said. “They are shorter, more upright, and feature increased branching and nodes, which allow for planting at higher populations in narrower rows. This design equates to more plants per acre and, ultimately, higher yields.”

Looking ahead to the 2025 planting season, Stine will offer more than 100 Enlist E3 soybean lines ranging in maturity from 008 to 77. This includes 45 new brands, reinforcing its position as an industry leader.

Growers can explore Stine’s Enlist E3 offerings and discover the benefits of these high-performance soybeans by contacting a local Stine sales representative or accessing the 2025 Stine Seed Catalog online.
